AhrimanProductions's News

I recently helped make a game with a friend of mine; RickyTheHedgehog & it's pretty cool.
There are only a few scripting errors in it that can't be fixed. These are very similar to the occasional ones you find in my games.

Anyway, please go watch it & rate it well.
There's reviews on it because it used to be a shitty movie that he hated so he replaced it with this.

Go watch ithere!

Welcome to the offical strategy guide for my best submission to date, Final Fantasy Epic 1.2!

This is for the final completed version of Final Fantasy Epic 1.2.

PART ONE: How to beat that bastardly dragon
Guardian Dragon
HP: 50, 000 Max Damage: 200

This is easily done in 3 steps. Just a little time consuming. But this is probably the best & quickest way to defeat it so... read on!

1) Start him off with a Divider+. This should take his HP down by roughly 800. Then, use Buraitou on it. This is probably the 2nd best attack in the game. This should take a good 9000 off him. Cheerin' aye? The dragon will get his 1st attack now. If you have good luck Zakk will either; a) be nowhere near dead, or b) be on less than 50. Thus opening his Limit command.
If it's "a" you wanna use a "Cure" spell on Zakk. He'll be on about 300 now. This HP boost won't last long. Use another Divider+ and that's just about all your MP gone. If it's "b" obviously use Limit.

2) Zakk's probably dead by now. If he is, (for the love of god!) don't click "Admit Defeat". It plays a little humorous scene and then you have to go right back to before the battle and start again.
If not, use another Cure to make him last that little bit longer. Then use a Limit when he can. Now he has to die. He's got no MP left to heal. Don't worry though. Zakk isn't through yet. Cast Life on Zakk & now you just hope that he doesn't get killed again. Hope harder that he gets another Limit. Keep casting Life on Zakk until Lance's MP is gone.
You're probably thinking; "But what if Lance needs healing later? He won't be able to!" Right? WRONG!!!
Lance's Limit is THE best attack you take on this beast that guards Dracona. When Lance gets down to <250 and Zakk is dead, click Limit, sit back & enjoy the awesome animation that is his Limit.
The offensive part of this attack deasl roughly 10,000 damage & then the healing part of it will heal Lance by about 1000 & revive Zakk and heal him by about 300. Sweet, right?

3) Repeat this over and over until it dies:
a) Zakk & Lance attack it. (If Zakk gets Limit, use it.)
b) When Zakk dies, just keep attacking.
c) When Lance gets Limit, use it.
d) If it's not already dead (it should be by now) go to step "a."

That is how to kill the Guardian Dragon: 100% Success Rate
There are other methods, I'm sure. But you're guaranteed success if you use this one because it was written by the maker of Final Fantasy Epic....ME!

PART TWO: The battle with the Adamantoise

I don't even know why I'm writing this. It's the easiest battle in the game.
I really have to tell you? Alright, fine.

1) Click "Skill"
2) Click "Forgotten Sword"
3) Watch the animation
4) You win.

Happy?

The next post you see on here will probably be for ep1.3 but don't expect it too soon. I won't be putting that on here for a while.

||NEWS||
Final Fantasy Epic ep1.3 will be just about 100% battles! Won't that be fun? I'm gonna fill it with battles that get gradually harder as you progress through it. The storyline behind it is basically; Zakk's exploring the town eliminating anything that isn't on the Draconian's side. The entire episode should take about as long as this one to finish. You will fight Adamantoises, Soldiers, other random stuff I'm not sure about yet, & hopefully more!
It might be the most interactive of all the episodes! After that will be the end of Part 1 final boss.
This is going to be very similar to Final Fantasy VII, VIII & IX, in that, you fight a HARD boss at the end of each disc. In this case, each part.
Each part will have approximately 4 parts to it. There will probably be about 4 parts that means I would have to make 12 more episodes! YAY!!!
I hope you're enjoying playing these games as I am making them.

I took about a 1 or 2-day break from making this game.
It was because I was waiting for a helpful scripting hint from my friend "zooos"
(lots of credit to him)
& now I've got it.

So, Final Fantasy Epic 1.2 is on it's way again. YAY!!!

There's gonna be a turn in the story after the 1st battle. I'm not gonna tell you what, but it's gonna be good.

HINT: Zakk won't suck so much anymore.

COMPETITION: If you guess what the turn is gonna be, PM me with your answer, if it's close, I'll send you a screenshot.
If it's right, I'll upload it just for you, before it's done.
Entries close... when someone wins (I'll post something here informing you so you know) or when it's uploaded.

P.S. This battle engine (for the 1st battle) has taken me about 80% of the time I've been working on this game so, I HOPE YA LIKE IT!

Features of the battle engine:

1-fully-functional command box
2-multi-character battles
3-enemy responds to low HP (uses super powerful attack when reduced to 200)
4-fully-functional HP, MP & Item numbers
5-you don't have to win, if you lose you get a different scene following the battle but in the end you end up in the same place
6-multiple choices of action (attack, skill, item etc.)

Features working perfectly so far:

1, 2, 3

Features working slightly so far:

4, 6

So, the only thing not working yet (coz I haven't put it there) is the alternate scene. It's not there because I'm still adding all the attacks. Also, the potions & hi-potions numbers don't go down when you use one yet... :(
But the attacks work :D

P.S.S. The engine is (maybe) 40-50%. After that, I have to add in some storyline, then probably another battle. (joy...) Then it should be the end of episode 1.

Thanks again to zooos!

Bye, y'all!

Good News!
Final Fantasy Epic 1.2 is well on it's way now.
Here's some features of Pt. 2:
-fully-functional rpg engined battles
-multiple party characters
-hidden dungeons
-possibly hidden bosses (like Death Lilly)
-hopefully about 4-6 minutes of gameplay
-possible animated enemies
-some slight humor (much more so than the 1st part)
-the word "ass" is mentioned (lol)

That's about it so far.

Here's a screenshot before the 1st battle.

There is now a sound loop for every event. (at least, where I saw fit to add them.)

Still no sound effects, got all the loops done though. So far anyway...

Accidentally added script that makes the movie advance when you press Enter.
There is an upside to this! You can press Enter to advance the text instead of point-and-clicking.
You can advance it anywhere but I recommend only using it for the text otherwise you won't know where the movie's gonna take you.
So, just use it for the text.

I added some sound to it!
It's not that good coz it looks weird without sound fx but I've only got some of the sound loops going at the moment.
Go check it out!

There's a little bit more added to the game.
I added a little mini-game (you have to find it!)
I've done a little more work on the game itself, it's about 4 minutes long now, just letting it play. (Not stopping to read anything.)

I've still gotta add sound once it's actually done (which shouldn't be too long...I hope.) So we've still got a ways to go.

By the way, if anyone has any useful actionscript for RPG's please send 'em to me along with what they do!
I wanna actually make it a proper RPG like Mardek. But I don't know any script yet.
I need to know how to control movement, like on the overworld and stuff like that.

Couldn't be bothered with a screenshot this time.
It's on the site, so go check it out!

I'm working on an RPG right now. It's about 4 minutes long right now and will be done soon-ish... I hope.
I plan to make it a series. In fact, I think it has to be a series or none of this will make any sense.

I've still gotta finish the movie itself and then I have to get angry with it as I add sound. (I hate adding sound)

It will include RPG battles (ff style), interactivity (but you can't do whatever you want in battles. I haven't gotten that far with script yet. I only know basic frame control script right now.)
I believe it is quite high quality considering it is my 1st game. I've never done this much interactivity so this is a big step for me.

My Interactive RPG!

I'm putting a series on Newgrounds at the moment & as you can see in the subject of this post it's called FF8-Bit: The Movie.

I don't know how many parts there will be but pt1 is already on here so if you have a minute, go check it out.

*The mini-game doesn't work yet so don't bother with that at present.*

**It is done with sprites! You don't like it, don't watch it!**

I told you it would be on here when it's on here!
And here it is!

Sure, it's not quite done but I just posted it so you can see how it's going.

**NOTE**: It is done with stick figures! It isn't a pure stick movie! The animation is just done with a stick figure for Kratos.
